Homeschool Convention

We went to the Homeschool Convention in Greenville last week. Seth and Luke spent part of their days in the children's conference, which was a lot like VBS. They sang songs with a band, played lots of games and did some crafts. We picked them up one day and Seth was wearing a headset mic that he had made out of pipe cleaners. He was in the back seat playing his air guitar as we drove away, and I said, "Seth, where did you get that really cool air guitar?" Quite wittily, he replied, "I've had it for years." Of course, I didn't get a picture.

I also didn't get a picture of our hotel lobby. It had water falls, and fish swimming by in the streams. The boys thought it was really cool to eat breakfast surrounded by all of the nature. Eli was mesmerized by the waterfalls, and as long as he could see one, he was perfectly content while everyone else ate pancakes and eggs.

I did take a picture of the boys in their bed one night before they went to sleep.

I also took a picture of all the goodies we bought at the book fair.

Ignore the Krispy Kremes beside the table. The Hot Now sign was on. We had to get them, so as not to upset the balance of the universe.

We all had a good time at the conference, but it wore us out. We had to be up by 6:30 in order to make it to the first session. The boys and I were ready to crash by 8:00pm. We're not used to getting up early!

We got rid of cable a while ago, so having it at the hotel was a special treat for the boys. We watched Iron Chef every night while we were there. When we were packing up to leave, Luke said, "I don't want to go home. I want to stay here for 40 days." When I asked him why, he said, "So I can watch Food Network."

When I Grow Up...

Seth: Hey, Mom?

Me: Yes?

Seth: Do you know what I'm going to do when I'm a grown up?

Me: What?

Seth: Well, I'm going to have to move. I'll look for a house in this neighborhood, but if I can't find one for sale, I'll have to live in Durham. You know thats like an *hour* away! I'll have to call you on the phone sometimes.

Me: I would love it if you call me on the phone when you are a grown up. And if you move to Durham, you can still come over once in a while and I'll make you your favorite dinner.

Seth: Sausage and eggs and all that?!!?

Me: Yep.

Seth: Fantastic!!!

Busted!

Luke was supposed to be cleaning his place at the table after dinner. It was taking him a little longer than expected, so I went to check on him. I found him under the table trying to hide while he finished off Daddy's Diet Coke. He looked so guilty when I found him, and all I could do was laugh. I told him not to move, so I could get my camera. I think all of my laughing made him forget his guilt, so he smiled triumphantly for his picture.

Fun Bobby's Photo Shoot

When Eli's not screaming, we like to call him Fun Bobby. He's almost 3 months old in these pictures.
